PARENT MEETING

WHERE: Tualatin High School, Small Gym
In addition to introducing
the 2009 TTYFA Board of Directors, we will be giving you important information
pertaining to this year’s football season.
Below are the volunteer
positions that need to be filled on each team. Be prepared to sign up for
a position directly following the meeting. Each team will be posted on the
walls around the gym.
Immediately following the
meeting, there will be training for those who have signed up for Weigh Master & Field
Greeter. Both of these positions are required by the league &
are extremely important. There are very specific guidelines that need to
be followed so training is MANDATORY!

Team Volunteer Positions
- Team Parent - Collects, confirms amounts,
and turns in all money to the Treasurer. Sets snack and drink schedules,
liaison to parents, players, TTYFA Board Members as directed by the team's
Head Coach. Need two Team Parents per team.
- Team Sportswriter - Prepares and submits
articles about the game to the Tualatin Times by the Tuesday following that
weekend's game.
- Team Equipment Manager - Assists the
team's coaching staff in assessing and solving the team's equipment needs.
Liaison between the TTYFA Equipment Manager, Matt Steidler, and the team.
Keeps the team equipment box and medical kit fully stocked.
- Team Home Field Greeter (required by league)
– For all home games, welcomes opposing team, shows them where to
practice, where the bathrooms are, etc. Basically, you are the
ambassador for Tualatin Youth Football.
- Team Field Set Up or Tear Down - If your
team is the first TTYFA team on the TuHS JV field, you assist setting up yard
markers, goal post pads, the game clock, and chains for the home game. If your
team is the last TTYFA team on the field, you assist in returning to storage
all the above field equipment.
- Team Chain Gang - The home team must
provide the chain gang. There are three people needed, two for chains and one
for the down marker.
- Team Play Counter (required by league) -
Stands in the coaches box during games and marks the number of plays each
player has played up to the required number of plays.
- Team Weigh Master (required by league) -
Weighs the opposing team and TTYFA team prior to the game. Can't be a coach.
Need at least 2.
- Snack Shack Volunteers – Several people
needed to help out in the snack shack on designated times & days
(TBD)
- Play Recorder – Using a pre-printed form,
keeps track of downs, yards, player #s, etc to help the coach keep track of
statistics & the sportswriter to remember what happened during the
game.
