Coaching Expectations for the Tualatin Timberwolves Youth Football Program

As a coach in the Tualatin Timberwolves Youth Football program, your role is vital in shaping the athletes of tomorrow. We expect our coaches to embody the core values of our program and the high school football team, ensuring a consistent and positive experience for all players.

Loyalty and Teamwork
Coaches must be loyal to the program and each other, fostering a collaborative and unified coaching environment. Our success starts with strong relationships among coaches.

Commitment to the Program
Punctuality and preparedness are essential. Coaches are expected to be on time for all activities—whether it's meetings, practices, or the weight room—and to be fully prepared for each session.

Build Relationships
Coaching is about more than just teaching football; it's about impacting lives. Build strong relationships with players, guide them, and help them reach their full potential.

Be an Expert and a Teacher
Coaches should be knowledgeable in their position and constantly strive to improve. We expect coaches to be excellent teachers, dedicated to developing the skills and fundamentals necessary for success.

Enthusiasm and Positivity
Bring effort and enthusiasm to every practice and interaction. Your enthusiasm sets the tone for the players and helps them develop a passion for the game.

Learn and Grow
Be curious and open to learning from others. We value coaches who are constantly seeking ways to improve their craft, whether that means learning new strategies or refining techniques.

Model Our Values
Coaches are expected to lead by example and preach our program's core values: discipline, toughness, and togetherness. Hold players accountable to these values both on and off the field.

"Coach 'Em Hard, Love 'Em Later (Bear Bryant)"
While we emphasize hard work and discipline, we also believe in showing care and support for our players. Every player has the potential to succeed, and our job is to help them unlock it.

By embodying these expectations, coaches play a key role in developing not only strong football players but strong individuals who understand the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
